Job summary

CGI is seeking a Senior Data Engineer (Databricks & Cloud Analytics) to design and implement enterprise-grade data solutions in Salt Lake City, UT. You’ll build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, optimize SQL, and work with Databricks, Delta Lake, Kafka, and Azure services in an Agile environment.

The role focuses on modern cloud data platforms, collaboration with data scientists and stakeholders, and delivering high‑quality analytics capabilities for commercial and public sector clients.

Qualifications

• 6+ years designing and delivering enterprise data platforms and cloud analytics solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark, Python, SQL, and Scala.
• Experience with data lakes, data pipelines, and BI/AI data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise data solutions using cloud and big data technologies.
• Build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, and Azure Data Factory.
• Develop SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformation processes.
• Design data models for BI, analytics, and AI initiatives.
• Develop RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures for data exchange.
• Maintain streaming and messaging with Apache Kafka.
• Monitor and optimize production data pipelines and perform root-cause analysis.
• Implement data quality, governance, and security best practices.
• Collaborate with architects, analysts, PO, and cross-functional teams; participate in Agile ceremonies.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to standards and DevOps practices.
