Nansen is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to architect, build, and optimize data infrastructure powering our analytics product. Start as an individual contributor with a clear path to Engineering Manager in 12–18 months.

You will work with data and ML engineers to tackle real-world data challenges used by crypto investors and institutions. Key duties include designing scalable pipelines using ClickHouse, BigQuery, Python, and dbt; processing terabytes of streaming data daily; and mentoring junior

Qualifications

• Proven track record of building and scaling high-performance data systems in production.
• Deep expertise in SQL and Python; hands-on with dbt, ClickHouse and BigQuery.
• Experience with streaming data architectures and large-scale data volumes.
• Strong full-stack data experience from ingestion to serving; async teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale data pipelines and infrastructure using ClickHouse, BigQuery, Python, and dbt.
• Process terabytes of streaming and batch data daily.
• Collaborate with researchers, backend engineers, and product managers to model and surface data.
• Maintain data quality, reliability, and observability across systems.
• Mentor junior data engineers and promote technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate development and boost quality.
