Liberty Mutual is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Data and Analytics Engineering team in the PL Product/Finance and Vendor Extract space. This role blends data engineering with business analysis, delivering scalable data solutions and collaborating with stakeholders.

The position is U.S. based, hybrid, with two days in the Plano office. Strong SQL, cloud platforms (AWS/Snowflake), and experience building ETL/ELT pipelines are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field
• 5–6 years of data engineering or related technical experience
• Strong SQL skills and data modeling with relational/analytical DBs
• Experience with cloud platforms (Snowflake, AWS)
• Familiarity with mainframe technologies and data integration
• Proactive, analytical thinker with strong communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data models
• Analyze complex data sets to design flexible, innovative solutions
• Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical data solutions
• Build and support ETL/ELT pipelines from internal/external sources
• Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and monitoring for data integrity
• Develop automated tests (Unit, System, Integration, Regression) for data solutions
• Document data flows and data dictionaries to support governance
• Identify opportunities to improve data engineering processes and tooling
• Collaborate with engineers and architects, participating in code reviews and best practices
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve speed and quality
