Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Sr Data Engineer in Atlanta to lead end-to-end data, BI, and analytics delivery for the Packaging & Cellulose Digital Core. You will architect and execute scalable, AI-enabled solutions, collaborating across AWS, Redshift, Power BI, and Databricks while ensuring reliability and governance.

The role requires deep data engineering expertise, hands-on AWS and BI experience, and a willingness to work three days per week in the office at HQ in Atlanta, GA.

Qualifications

• Experience leading enterprise data, BI, or analytics solutions from design through production.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, etc.).
• Experience using SQL for data modeling, ETL/ELT, and data quality controls.
• Experience developing Power BI semantic models, datasets, and security.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end technical design and delivery of data, BI, and analytics solutions.
• Lead engineering quality and release readiness through reviews, testing, and deployment decisions.
• Design and improve data architecture, models, and ETL/ELT integrations across AWS and data lakes.
• Guide Power BI semantic models, datasets, and dashboards including security and performance.
• Apply CI/CD, IaC, governance, and observability to improve reliability and cost.
• Evaluate AI-assisted engineering capabilities with security and data governance.
• Mentor engineers and BI developers and share knowledge across teams.
