The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in data engineering, strong SQL skills, and expertise in cloud platforms like BigQuery and Dataform. This contract has potential for full-time conversion based on performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering experience in production environments.
• Strong SQL and data modeling expertise.
• Experience with BigQuery, Dataform, dbt, or similar cloud data platforms.
• Python development experience.
• Experience with AI, LLM, MCP, or agent-based technologies.
• Experience building and maintaining enterprise-scale data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of dimensional modeling and data warehouse design.
• Experience with Git, code reviews, and modern development practices.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data models and transformation frameworks.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines in BigQuery and Dataform (or dbt).
• Implement Medallion-style data architecture.
• Improve data quality, documentation, governance, and development standards.
• Migrate and modernize legacy ETL processes and workflows.
• Review code and enforce best practices.
• Partner with technical stakeholders for future AI initiatives.
