Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Irving, Texas is seeking a data-focused engineer to design and optimize relational database solutions using SQL Server and Azure SQL, develop ETL/ELT processes, and build scalable data pipelines.

The role requires strong T-SQL, Python, Databricks/Spark, and experience in Azure, with collaboration across data science, BI, and engineering teams. Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship is required.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and supporting database solutions using SQL Server/Azure SQL.
• Strong proficiency in T-SQL including query development and tuning.
• Hands-on Python for data processing and analytics workflows.
• Experience with Databricks or Apache Spark.
• Understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and ETL/ELT.
• Experience with Azure cloud environments.
• Proficiency in .NET/C#, Angular, and AI/ML preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• US work authorization now and in the future.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and optimize relational database solutions using SQL Server and Azure SQL, including T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models.
• Improve database performance and scalability through indexing and query tuning.
• Develop and maintain scalable ETL/ELT processes to integrate data across cloud platforms.
• Build data pipelines using Azure SQL, Databricks, Spark, Python, and PySpark.
• Design and implement relational and dimensional data models, including SCD patterns.
• Support AI/ML initiatives by developing data pipelines and feature datasets.
• Collaborate with data science teams to operationalize models using Spark/ML services.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and Agile ceremonies.
• Partner with developers, data engineers, BI teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable resolutions.
• Adhere to data governance, security, and quality standards.
