Job summary

Flowserve is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to modernize and migrate data products from Azure Synapse to Microsoft Fabric. You will design scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Spark/PySpark, Python, and SQL to support analytics and business reporting needs.

The role requires 7–10 years of hands-on experience, strong Azure fundamentals, and a proven track record of transforming pandas code to PySpark. Collaboration with analysts and engineers is essential for success.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure fundamentals.
• Strong experience migrating data products from Synapse to Fabric.
• Proficient in Python, SQL, Spark/PySpark, and data pipelines.
• Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD and deployment automation.
• Knowledge of data modeling, warehousing concepts and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with Delta/Parquet/JSON/CSV data formats.

Responsibilities

• Migrate data products, code, and workloads from Azure Synapse to Microsoft Fabric.
• Design, build, and support scalable data pipelines and workflows.
• Develop data products to support analytics and reporting needs.
• Build solutions using Azure Data Factory, notebooks, Spark/PySpark, SQL and Python.
• Refactor pandas-based transformations into PySpark implementations.
• Handle structured and semi-structured data for downstream consumption.
• Implement ingestion patterns (full, delta, CDC) from multiple sources.
• Apply data warehousing and medallion architecture concepts in designs.
• Validate migrated code and data for accuracy and completeness.
• Perform data quality checks, tuning, monitoring, and issue resolution.
• Troubleshoot pipelines and environment issues across Azure platforms.
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and stakeholders; document designs.
