Job summary

EY's Office of the CTO seeks a Data Engineer for the Advanced Forward Engineering (AFE) team. You will be embedded with clients to ensure data is accessible, governed, and production‑ready for AI deployments in regulated environments.

As a data owner in AFE pods, you will design ingestion and transformation, enforce governance, and collaborate with forward‑deployed engineers to deliver reliable AI workflows across dev, test, pre‑prod, and prod environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years in data engineering, data integration, or analytics engineering.
• Hands-on experience building data pipelines in cloud or hybrid environments.
• Experience with relational databases, data warehouses, data lakes, or enterprise systems.
• Familiarity with data modeling, transformation frameworks, and API-based data access.
• Experience with data governance, security, or compliance constraints.
• Ability to collaborate with application engineers in delivery-focused teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the data owner within an AFE delivery pod, ensuring data readiness does not block delivery.
• Design and implement data ingestion, transformation, and access patterns for AI systems.
• Ensure data pipelines comply with governance, security, lineage, and access control requirements.
• Implement data interfaces and contracts for DS data requirements in deployment templates.
• Partner with Forward Deployed Software Engineers to enable AI workflows in production.
• Diagnose and resolve data quality, schema drift, and integration issues.
• Contribute reusable data patterns to improve repeatability across pods.
• Support validation, testing, and deployment activities for data flows across environments.
