Job summary

EY’s Office of the CTO seeks a Data Engineer for the Advanced Forward Engineering team. The role embeds with clients to ensure data is accessible, governed, and production-ready for AI delivery in regulated environments. You’ll work with delivery engineers to integrate enterprise AI systems with legacy data sources.

Ideal candidates have deep data engineering expertise, strong collaboration skills, and a pragmatic approach to complex data landscapes within forward-deployed pods.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering, data integration, or analytics engineering.
• Hands-on experience building and operating data pipelines in cloud or hybrid environments.
• Experience integrating with relational databases, data warehouses, data lakes, or enterprise systems.
• Familiarity with data modeling, transformation frameworks, and API-based data access.
• Experience working under data governance, security, or compliance constraints.

Responsibilities

• Own data readiness within an AFE delivery pod.
• Design ingestions and transformations to integrate AI systems with client data.
• Ensure governance, security, lineage, and access controls.
• Define data interfaces and contracts for deployment templates.
• Collaborate with Forward Deployed Software Engineers to enable AI workflows.
• Troubleshoot data quality, schema drift, and integration issues.
• Contribute reusable data patterns back to the AFE integration core.
• Support validation and deployment across dev, test, pre-prod, prod.
