Boston University Information Services & Technology (IS&T) is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and scale modern data pipelines and platforms that advance BU's data and analytics capabilities. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering or analytics.
• Experience with data/integration tools: SnapLogic, Informatica, WebMethods, Mulesoft, or Dell Boomi.
• Knowledge of integration concepts (EAI, SOA, ESB, API Lead Management).
• Proficiency with SOAP/REST, messaging queues, and hybrid cloud/on-prem architectures.
• Familiarity with TOGAF, Zachman, and FEA frameworks.
• Proficiency in SQL, C#, .NET, Java, XML, JSON; cloud computing fundamentals (iPaaS, IaaS, SaaS, PaaS).
• Experience leading complex projects and collaborating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain large-scale data pipelines and ETL processes using modern cloud technologies.
• Lead development and optimization of analytical data models to support reporting and analytics.
• Manage infrastructure deployments, containerized workloads, and CI/CD practices.
• Implement data quality, testing, observability, and governance standards across the data platform.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and mentor team members to advance data strategy and engineering best practices.
