Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Senior Data Engineer 2 for a remote role focused on production knowledge graph solutions that support complex data integration and transformation in healthcare environments. You will translate healthcare and FHIR data into graph-based structures with reusable mapping patterns and robust data quality frameworks.

The role partners with technical stakeholders to model relationships, manage identity resolution, and optimize graph querying performance using Cypher and SPARQL,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software or data engineering experience, particularly with knowledge graphs or graph technologies.
• Strong understanding of knowledge graph and graph data modeling concepts.
• Hands-on experience with either LPG (Neo4j/Cypher) or RDF/semantic technologies (RDF/RDFS, OWL, SPARQL).
• Working knowledge of both LPG and RDF graph models.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or similar languages.
• Experience building production data ingestion, transformation, or integration pipelines.
• Understanding of entity identity, graph relationships, mappings, provenance, and data quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, build, and maintain production knowledge graph solutions across LPG and RDF graph technologies.
• Build scalable pipelines to transform healthcare and FHIR data into graph representations.
• Implement mappings between patient and clinical data and concepts in the clinical ontology.
• Develop reusable mapping and transformation patterns rather than one-off implementations.
• Implement consistent approaches for entity identity, canonical identifiers/URI/IRI, relationships, and concept linking.
• Maintain provenance and traceability between source data, mapping rules, and resulting graph entities and relationships.
• Develop and optimize graph queries using Cypher and/or SPARQL.

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Data Engineer 2 to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.
This role will focus on designing and maintaining production knowledge graph solutions that support complex data integration and transformation needs. You will build scalable pipelines that translate healthcare and FHIR data into graph-based structures, with a strong emphasis on reusable mapping patterns, traceability, and data quality. The position also partners across technical stakeholders to model relationships, manage identity resolution, and optimize graph querying performance.
Location: Remote
Compensation: $120,000 – $145,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Build scalable pipelines to transform healthcare and FHIR data into appropriate graph representations
• Implement mappings between patient and clinical data and concepts represented in the clinical ontology
• Develop reusable mapping and transformation patterns rather than one-off implementations
• Implement consistent approaches for entity identity, canonical identifiers/URI/IRI, relationships, and concept linking
• Maintain provenance and traceability between source data, mapping rules, and resulting graph entities and relationships
