Qualifikationen

• Five+ years of data engineering experience in Microsoft Azure.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field.
• DP-700 Fabric Data Engineer Associate certification is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Collaborate with data owners and data stewards to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
• Take end-to-end ownership of data solutions from requirements analysis to deployment, monitoring and improvement.
• Design, develop and maintain data models, pipelines and transformations using Microsoft Fabric, dbt and Azure technologies.
• Build and maintain trusted data foundations that support analytics, reporting and AI-powered solutions.
• Contribute to the development of AI-driven use cases and data products.
• Optimize data solutions for performance, scalability, reliability, maintainability and cost efficiency.

• Contribute to the EVS data architecture, standards and engineering best practices.

The Senior Data Engineer joins an established and collaborative Data Team, bringing experience and fresh perspectives to help design, build and evolve trusted data products that power analytics and AI-driven initiatives. By sharing best practices and contributing to technical decisions, he/she help strengthen the team and shape the future evolution of EVS's data platform.

Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Data & BI, the Senior Data Engineer will join a hybrid (Liège / Porto) team composed of Data Engineers and Data Analysts. He/she will contribute to the continuous evolution of EVS's data platform while promoting engineering excellence, knowledge sharing and modern data practices.

His/her role will be to :

• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Data Owners, Report Owners and Data Stewards, to understand business needs and translate them into scalable data solutions.
• Take end-to-end ownership of data solutions, from requirements analysis and technical design to deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement.
• Design, develop and maintain data models, pipelines and transformation processes using Microsoft Fabric, dbt and Azure technologies.
• Build and maintain trusted data foundations that support analytics, reporting and AI-powered solutions.
• Contribute to the development of AI-driven use cases and data products.
• Optimize data solutions for performance, scalability, reliability, maintainability and cost efficiency.
• Implement CI/CD practices, automated testing and deployment processes to operate data solutions in production.
• Contribute to the definition and evolution of EVS's data architecture, technical standards and engineering best practices.
• Implement and maintain security, governance and data quality controls to ensure the protection and reliability of data assets.
• Ensure technical and functional documentation remains accurate, complete and up to date.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting the data platform, infrastructure and pipelines.
• Share expertise and best practices within the Data Team, adopting a coaching mindset to help colleagues grow and strengthen the team's overall capabilities.

Profile Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering in Microsoft Azure environment.
• DP-700 Fabric Data Engineer Associate certification is a plus.

• Expertise in Microsoft Azure data services.
• Strong SQL and Python/PySpark skills.
• Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT and Lakehouse architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD, testing, version control and monitoring.
• Ability to translate business needs into scalable solutions.

Strong assets

• Microsoft Fabric experience.
• Experience with dbt.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, lineage and data quality.
• Experience supporting analytics and AI use cases.

Nice to have

• Power BI.
• AI Engineering concepts (LLMs, RAG, ML, Agents).
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience.
• Microsoft 365, Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, UML and BPMN familiarity.
