Job summary

Digital Envoy is hiring a full-time Senior Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable data integration pipelines that enable timely analyses. The role involves building data tools and supporting warehousing systems to serve customers across multiple industries.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of data engineering or relevant experience.
• 4+ years experience with Spark.
• Strong Python skills.
• Advanced proficiency with SQL including complex joins and window functions.
• Familiarity with orchestration systems, preferably Airflow.
• Experience with AWS data engineering products (S3, EMR, Athena) or similar cloud tools.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain customer-facing data products (e.g., Matchbook, LocID) using PySpark on AWS EMR.
• Orchestrate end-to-end Airflow workflows from data processing to on-demand batch requests.
• Deliver data products across AWS S3, Snowflake, and Google Cloud Storage; enable real-time access with other teams.
• Write complex SQL for high-value business questions for customers and internal stakeholders.
• Develop tooling in Python, Spark, and PostGIS to acquire, curate, and enrich spatial data.
• Leverage modern AI tools to accelerate development, analysis, testing, and documentation.

Digital Envoy is hiring a a full-time Senior Data Engineer who will support the development and maintenance of sustainable data integration pipelines that enable our team to perform timely analyses. The Data Engineer will also build scalable tools and work with data warehousing systems needed to support customers.

Full-time Senior Data Engineer will also work remotely from any of the following states: California (CA), Colorado (CO), Connecticut (CT), Florida (FL), Georgia (GA), Kentucky (KY), Massachusetts (MA), Michigan (MI), New York (NY), New Jersey (NJ), North Carolina (NC), Pennsylvania (PA), South Carolina (SC), Tennessee (TN), Texas (TX), Virginia (VA), Washington (WA). Georgia residents are encouraged and welcomed to join us a couple days/week in our Peachtree Corners, Georgia office. Please note, at this time, Digital Envoy is not sponsoring visas for this position.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain customer-facing data products like Matchbook and LocID using PySpark on AWS EMR
• Orchestrate end-to-end Airflow workflows, from supplier data processing to on-demand customer batch requests
• Deliver data products across AWS S3, Snowflake, and Google Cloud Storage, partnering with other engineering teams to enable real-time access
• Write complex SQL (including geospatial) to answer high-value business questions for customers and internal stakeholders
• Develop tooling in Python, Spark, and PostGIS to acquire, curate, and enrich spatial data
• Use modern AI tools like Claude Code to accelerate development, analysis, testing, and documentation

Requirements

Who You Are

• 7+ years of data engineering or relevant industry experience
• 4+ years experience and working proficiency with Spark
• Strong Python Skills
• Advanced proficiency with SQL, comfortable with complex joins and window functions
• Familiarity with orchestration systems, preferably Airflow
• Experience with AWS data engineering products (S3, EMR, Athena...) or similar tools from other cloud providers
• Self-initiative and an entrepreneurial mindset
• Strong communication skills
• Passion for data
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical areas like Math, Statistics, and/or other Engineering degrees

Nice-To-Haves

• Working knowledge of Scala
• Proficiency with building Tableau dashboards
• Experience with spatial data, joins and operations
• Familiarity with Snowflake
• Experience with Machine Learning
• Background in AdTech or Cybersecurity fields
