Job summary

Gen II is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to develop the data capability across the finance function and beyond. You will build a best-in-class data platform on Snowflake and dbt, create end-to-end pipelines to Power BI, and work with business stakeholders to identify new use-cases.

This role supports cross-functional growth and cross-business insights. The position offers a hybrid schedule (three days in office, two remote) in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• 4+ years' experience in data engineering with cloud data warehouses and data pipelines.
• 2+ years Snowflake experience.
• dbt, SQL or similar Data Transformation/ Data Modelling experience.
• Must have experience with Data Ingestion, preferably using FiveTran.
• Experience using APIs and Python to build pipelines.
• Knowledge & understanding of data architecture and modelling including enterprise security and governance.
• Knowledge of programming best practices and familiarity with Azure DevOps for documentation and governance.
• Experience leading/ managing a team of data engineers.
• Ability to prioritize and organize multiple parallel workstreams.
• Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong commercial understanding of the value of data and potential use cases it underpins.

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to develop the data capability at Gen II through driving high impact initiatives, initially aligned to the Finance function.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in data engineering and experience working and communicating with business stakeholders. At Gen II you will be building on a newly established data platform, initially to support the financial planning and analytics team to drive better commercial decision making but quickly extending into other areas across all business functions at Gen II.

This role provides opportunities to grow and shape the data function as it expands to be cross-functional and drive business insights across the business.

Primary Responsibilities Will Include:

• Building and maintaining a best-in-class data platform built on Snowflake and dbt.
• Building and maintaining end-to-end data pipelines, from source systems (Intacct, Salesforce, etc.) to end consumers primarily in Power BI.
• Identifying and prioritizing future use-cases for data products in Gen II.
• Ensuring strict compliance with security and organizational standards are maintained within the boundaries of the data platform.
• Assist with other projects and duties as assigned by the Finance Team.

Job Requirements, Skills, Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar/ related discipline.
• 4+ years’ experience in data engineering, primarily working with cloud data warehouses and data pipelines.
• 2+ years Snowflake experience is required.
• dbt, SQL or similar Data Transformation/ Data Modelling experience is required.

The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $170,000, in addition to a discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits package. Please note that the actual salary offered within that range will depend on the candidate’s experience level.
