Job summary

JCW Group has partnered with a leading specialty insurance MGA to hire a Data Engineer who will own the full data ingestion function, from pipeline design and orchestration through data quality and reliability. You will ship production pipelines end-to-end, ensure carrier feeds, policy and claims data land cleanly, and maintain trust in the data before it reaches the business or analytics layers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering or a closely related role.
• Strong SQL and Python.
• Hands-on experience with a cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Genuine ownership experience with data ingestion and ELT tools such as Fivetran or Airbyte, not just managing a pre-built setup.
• Experience with pipeline orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or dbt Cloud.
• Solid grounding in relational databases including SQL Server or Azure SQL.
• Track record of owning pipelines end-to-end in production with accountability for failures and fixes.
• Experience with insurance, MGA, or financial services data a plus.
• Familiarity with bordereaux, carrier reporting, or regulated data reporting a plus.
• Salesforce data integration experience and working knowledge of dbt a plus.
• Exposure to AI/ML or LLM-based tooling and awareness of NY DFS cybersecurity regulation a plus.

Responsibilities
