Job summary

G2O in Ohio is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize scalable data integration pipelines and data solutions. This hands-on role focuses on Databricks, Spark/PySpark, Python, SQL, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog to deliver reliable data products for healthcare stakeholders.

You will work on-site 3 days a week in a hybrid setting, collaborating with technical teams and business partners to translate needs into effective data solutions and support analytics and reporting.

Qualifications

• Hands-on data engineering experience with ETL/ELT and pipelines.
• Advanced experience with Databricks, Spark/PySpark, Python, and SQL.
• Experience with Delta Lake and Unity Catalog.
• Strong data modeling and data quality skills.
• Healthcare payer data experience preferred (claims, membership, eligibility, provider data).
• Experience with mainframe technologies is a plus.

Job description

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize scalable data integration pipelines and data solutions. This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong focus on Databricks, Spark/PySpark, Python, SQL, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog. The ideal candidate can independently solve complex data challenges while effectively partnering with technical teams and business stakeholders.

*this is a hybrid position that will sit on-site 3-days a week, and candidates must be a GC/USC

What you'll do:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data integration and transformation pipelines.
• Build and optimize batch-oriented solutions using Databricks, PySpark, Python, and SQL.
• Perform data profiling and improve data quality, reliability, and performance.
• Design data models and troubleshoot complex pipeline and data issues.
• Work with healthcare data including claims, membership, eligibility, and provider data.
• Partner with technical and business stakeholders to translate business needs into effective data solutions.
• Support reporting, analytics, and data-driven insights while maintaining a primary focus on data engineering.

What you'll bring:

• Strong hands-on data engineering experience, including ETL/ELT and data integration pipelines.
• Advanced experience with Databricks, Spark/PySpark, Python, and SQL.
• Experience with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, data modeling, and data quality.
• Strong Snowflake experience may be considered in place of Databricks.
• Ability to independently design, develop, troubleshoot, and optimize complex data solutions.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Healthcare payer experience highly preferred, particularly with claims, membership, eligibility, or provider data.
• Experience with JCL, COBOL, DB2, or IBM OS/390 mainframe technologies is a plus.
