Job summary

Kelly Science, Engineering, Technology & Telecom seeks a senior Platform Architect to lead the design and evolution of an event-driven data platform for enterprise data ingestion, processing, and storage.

You will collaborate with product and data leads to build cloud-native solutions using AWS, DBT and Python, drive pipeline optimization, and mentor junior engineers while championing engineering best practices in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software and data engineering experience with leadership.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, engineering, or related field.
• Strong Python proficiency for data engineering and advanced SQL with stored procedures.
• Experience designing AWS-native applications and data architectures.

• Platform Architecture: Design, develop, and maintain a best-in-class, event-driven data platform to ingest, process, and store enterprise data.
• Pipeline Optimization: Continuously improve data pipelines through automation, robust unit testing, and expanded test coverage to enhance quality and accelerate time-to-delivery.
• Collaborative Development: Partner with engineering teams to build cloud-native solutions utilizing AWS, DBT and Python.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Work alongside product owners, data leads, Scrum Masters, and development teams to build seamless data ingestion and integration workflows.
• Technical Leadership: Mentor junior team members, champion engineering best practices, and contribute actively to code reviews.
• Agile Delivery: Lead iterative development cycles to deliver impactful data products supporting critical business operations.

Required Skills

• Experience: 10+ years of software and data engineering experience, including a proven track record of technical leadership.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Programming & Databases: Strong Python proficiency tailored to data engineering alongside advanced SQL skills (including stored procedures and functions).
• Data Modeling: Solid foundational knowledge of data modeling methodologies, operational data stores, and enterprise data warehousing.
• Cloud Architecture: Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining AWS-native applications.
