Addison Group is partnering with an Austin-based client seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer to help design, build, and optimize enterprise-scale data solutions within Azure Databricks. This role requires deep hands-on expertise with Databricks Lakehouse architecture, data pipeline design, and modern data engineering best practices. The ideal candidate has led platform implementations, mentored junior engineers, and built scalable, production-grade solutions supporting large data volumes and complex business requirements.

Duration: Long term contract with potential to extend/ convert

Location: Austin, TX- 2 days remote, 3 days onsite

Pay: $80-85/HR

This position is eligible to enroll in medical, dental, and vision after 60 days. In addition, this position is eligible to enroll in a 401(k) after 90 days.

The Senior Data Engineer is a senior individual contributor responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise cloud data platform capabilities. This role combines hands-on engineering, solution design, and operational ownership to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions. The engineer serves as a technical lead on major initiatives while remaining accountable for production support and operational excellence.

The role supports platform transformation and steady-state operations, with approximately 70% focused on development of new capabilities and 30% on operations, support, and platform reliability. Primary areas include Azure Databricks, cloud data engineering, platform modernization, automation, governance, and continuous improvement.

Top Requirements:

• Expert-level Azure Databricks experience (Unity Catalog, Notebooks, Delta Lake, Lakeflow Connect, Auto Loader, Structured Streaming)
• Experience designing and architecting enterprise-scale data pipelines using Python, PySpark, and SQL
• Proven leadership and mentorship experience within Data Engineering teams
• Strong background building scalable Lakehouse solutions and modern cloud data platforms
