Responsibilities

• Leads planning, design, and optimization of data center white space (rack layout, aisle containment, power, cabling).
• Creates and maintains white space docs (room layouts, rack elevations, BOM, structured cabling).
• Develops design standards and Basis of Design documents to guide teams.
• Develops low-voltage structured cabling designs to support scalable compute/storage/network.
• Reviews site layouts and fit-out designs to ensure compliance with standards.
• Collaborates with colocation providers, developers, and internal teams to translate requirements into executable white space designs.
• Interfaces with Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire, and Controls to ensure robust integration.
• Leads project coordination meetings on scope and timelines.
• Leverages partner relationships to locate information and resources.
• Contributes to design initiatives from concept to execution.
• Leads teams including contractors and vendors during design to commissioning.
• Ensures deliverables meet expectations, standards, and schedules.
• Guides contract administration, change orders, and cost forecasts.
• Mentors junior engineers to build capability.
• Travels to data centers to validate design and perform commissioning.
• Acts as SME for mission-critical systems in operations.
• Supports engineering during live events and incidents.
• Ensures documentation is captured and shared with ops and field teams.
• Contributes to global data center standards and procedures.
• Develops documentation for standards adherence and testing.
• Participates in design summits and policy reviews.
• Researches new designs and construction methods for mission-critical systems.
• Develops and tests engineering solutions using modeling and testing.
• Creates digitized data center models for design integrity and capacity planning.
• Assesses component reliability and performance; provides feedback.
