Job summary

Meta’s Edge & Network Services (ENS) team is seeking a Network Engineer to design and deploy data center networks, with emphasis on fiber infrastructure and automation.

You will collaborate with engineering, design, and construction teams to deliver scalable data center solutions while driving standards and operational efficiency. Expect 25–40% travel to support global builds and improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 8-10+ years designing large-scale data center networks.
• Structured cabling and fiber optic infra knowledge.
• Data center design, construction, and startup/commissioning processes.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams on large projects.
• Knowled ge of TCP/IP, routing, switching and optical transport.
• Experience with enterprise IP/Optical hardware.
• Strong communication and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Support data center construction and network deployment for greenfield sites and retrofits.
• Create network design packages with engineering and data center teams.
• Act as SME for physical infra, BMS, and services networks.
• Collaborate with software teams to reflect design intent in tools.
• Perform logical bootstrapping to align tools with hardware.
• Build relationships with stakeholders and vendors.
• Drive initiatives to standardize and accelerate build processes.
• Site visits with construction teams to validate cabling per Meta standards.
• Influence future data center and network designs for scalability.
• Maintain technical docs and training materials.
• Develop automation to improve design, deployment, and ops.
• Oversee vendor field teams to hit milestones.
• Travel 25% to 40% based on project demand.
