Job summary

Wesco is seeking a Senior Data Center Logistics Associate in Lubbock, TX to lead material flow and inventory in a mission-critical data center environment. You will move IT hardware using forklifts and pallet jacks, ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency across receiving, staging, and distribution operations.

You will partner with technical teams, support server deployments, capacity planning, and process improvements, while mentoring junior staff and maintaining strict security protocols.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; higher degree preferred.
  • 4-7 years in logistics/warehouse roles.
  • Experience in data center/IT infrastructure environments preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Familiarity with IT hardware, servers, networking equipment.
  • Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage delicate, high-value equipment requiring precise handling.
  • Receive, log, and process inbound shipments with verification of quantities and condition.
  • Prepare, pack, label, and stage outbound shipments; coordinate loading.
  • Verify supplier returns and enter receipts into inventory systems.
  • Relocate, consolidate, and organize materials within storage areas.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and documentation (logs, bills of lading, receipts, invoices).
  • Monitor inventory levels and forecast material needs; coordinate with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Coordinate transportation between storage locations and data center facilities.
  • Communicate with internal teams, vendors, and logistics partners for timely movement.
  • Escalate inventory discrepancies and shipping issues; resolve as needed.
  • Perform cycle counts and reconciliations; ensure compliance.
  • Identify improvements to logistics and processes; mentor new staff.
  • Support planning of large hardware deployments, refreshes, and decommissioning.
  • Assist with other logistics duties as needed.

Job Description

As a Senior Data Center Logistics Associate, you will support and lead material flow and inventory operations within a mission-critical data center environment. You will oversee the secure, accurate movement of IT hardware in high-security and clean-room environments, utilizing material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to receive, transport, stage, and distribute equipment and materials. You will serve as a subject matter expert for receiving, staging, tracking, and distribution activities while ensuring inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and adherence to safety standards. In addition, you will partner closely with technical teams to support server deployments, hardware replacements, capacity planning, and ongoing data center operations, while helping drive process improvements and mentoring junior logistics team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage delicate, high-value technical equipment requiring precise, white-glove handling.
  • Receive, log, and process inbound shipments, including verifying quantities and condition of materials.
  • Prepare, pack, label, and stage outbound shipments, including assembling packing lists and coordinating truck loading activities.
  • Verify supplier returns and enter order receipts into inventory systems.
  • Relocate, consolidate, and organize materials within storage and staging areas.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and documentation, including logs, bills of lading, delivery receipts, and invoices.
  • Monitor inventory levels, forecast material needs, and coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely availability of equipment and materials.
  • Coordinate transportation and deliveries between storage locations and data center facilities.
  • Communicate with internal technical teams, vendors, and logistics partners to ensure timely and efficient material movement.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for inventory discrepancies, shipping issues, and logistics-related challenges.
  • Perform inventory audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation activities to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement opportunities to improve logistics, inventory management, and material-handling processes.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new logistics associates on standard operating procedures, safety requirements, and inventory control processes.
  • Support planning and execution of large-scale hardware deployments, refreshes, and decommissioning projects.
  • Assist with other logistics-related duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Hands-on experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse material-handling equipment required or preferred based on site needs.
  • 4-7 years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, inventory management, or a related field.
  • Experience working in data center, IT infrastructure, technical warehouse, or mission-critical environments preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with IT infrastructure components, including servers, switches, networking equipment, racks, and structured cabling.
  • Experience utilizing inventory management, warehouse management, and logistics software systems.
  • Ability to strictly adhere to security protocols and safety standards for handling equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience performing inventory audits, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify operational inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations, shipping procedures, and inventory control best practices.
  • Intermediate computer skills and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Willingness to operate warehouse equipment, including powered industrial equipment.

  • Compensation Details $28.00 - $32.00 Per Hour

This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements. For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan,subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the applicable commission plan.
