Job summary

LMI is seeking a Senior Data Architect to support a DoD mission partner with enterprise data architecture and modernization efforts. The role balances hands‑on design with data governance across on‑prem and cloud environments, including DoD analytics platforms and Microsoft 365, with largely remote work and periodic onsite collaboration near San Diego.

The candidate will serve as SME for data architecture, governance, and administration, coordinating with government technical leads and security

Qualifications

Active Secret security clearance.
DoD 8570/8140‑compliant baseline certification (e.g., Security+).
Eight+ years in data architecture/engineering/enterprise data management.
Three+ years in data engineering/DataOps, data warehouses, pipelines, and visualization.
Three+ years in data science/analytics across diverse data structures.
Five+ years in Agile development and MS Visual Studio or Git operations.
Three+ years in Microsoft BI stack or modern data stack (DataHub/Databricks/AWS/Azure).
Willing to travel to San Diego vicinity for periodic onsite collaboration.

Responsibilities

Analyze enterprise data requirements and systems flow to design data engineering solutions.
Develop models, policies, and standards for data collection, cataloging, storage, integration across the enterprise.
Map data pipeline interactions and produce ER diagrams and architecture drawings.
Design and visualize the enterprise data management framework across on‑premises and cloud environments.
Research, design, implement, and manage enterprise data engineering systems as SME for data architecture.
