Job summary

Chenega MIOS seeks an experienced Data Architect to lead the development of modern data architecture strategies for DARPA ITD multi-cloud environments across AWS and Azure, IL4/IL6 workloads, and containerized platforms. You will guide data modernization, governance, and secure data solutions while collaborating with cloud architects, cybersecurity, and DevSecOps teams.

The role emphasizes building scalable, interoperable data platforms, establishing standards, and delivering reusable patterns

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of data architecture experience.
• 5+ years designing enterprise relational database solutions.
• Experience with AWS RDS and cloud data solutions.
• Knowledge of multi-cloud (AWS/Azure) data architectures.
• Experience with container platforms and IaC.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain target-state data architecture, roadmap, standards, and reference patterns for multi-cloud environments.
• Assess and modernize relational databases (SQL Server, AWS RDS) and other data stores for performance, security, and cost.
• Design secure, scalable data solutions across AWS and Azure, IL4/IL6 environments.
• Lead architecture decisions on database modernization, containerized platforms, and data integration.
• Define patterns for transitioning workloads to container-based solutions (Kubernetes).
• Establish data governance, lifecycle management, encryption, auditing, and monitoring standards.
• Develop IaC and automation for database and data-platform services.
• Evaluate new data technologies and prepare implementation plans.
