Job summary

Data Analysis Incorporated is seeking a Data Architect to lead the design, review, and optimization of enterprise data solutions. You will establish architecture standards and collaborate with Engineering and DBA teams to deliver scalable, secure data platforms.

The role requires 10+ years of relational DB design experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle, plus strong data modeling, performance tuning, and governance skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and review high-performance relational database architectures for enterprise applications.
• Define and promote data modeling standards, architectural patterns, and database design best practices.
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate data platforms and architectural patterns based on workload, scalability, performance, and operational requirements, and remain engaged through implementation to ensure successful adoption.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance of solutions.
• Partner with Database Administrators to optimize database structures, indexing strategies, and query performance.
• Conduct architectural reviews and identify inefficiencies, anti-patterns, and technical debt.
• Provide guidance on transaction processing, concurrency, locking, and data integrity within OLTP environments.
• Establish standards and governance practices for database development and deployment.
• Support performance troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and remediation of database-related issues.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives involving data integration, reporting, and data warehousing.
• Document architectural decisions, standards, and recommended practices.
