Job Overview

The Senior Data Architect is responsible for planning and delivery of database architecture and design services, providing sizing and configuration assistance, performing needs assessments, database definition and structure, documentation, long‑range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection. Ensures accuracy and completeness of data in master files and support tools, creates and tests backups, establishes and maintains security and integrity controls, formulates and monitors policies, procedures and standards relating to database management, and proposes and implements enhancements to improve performance and reliability. Excellent communication skills are required to negotiate internally at senior level, with occasional external communication. Accountable for end results of the area.

Responsibilities

• Manages data architecture and helps oversee and implement the design of a strategic business information architecture framework.
• Leads development of the information architecture principles and framework for Citi’s Enterprise Analytics Platform and Enterprise Risk Management.
• Creates and maintains formal enterprise information management requirements including business architecture models, data models, data flows, enterprise data standards, data quality, lineage, backup, adoption strategies and remediation recommendations.
• Creates business and technical architectures that accelerate solution designs, use AI/ML, improve application quality, drive data quality and interoperability, and maximize shared assets.
• Creates detailed business and technical requirements documents reflecting data needs of key initiatives.
• Works closely with key business SMEs to understand critical data needs and impact of data quality issues.
• Works on proof‑of‑concepts and implementation of data stores.
• Recognizes patterns of data needs across multiple business requirements and addresses them using efficient architecture.
• Collaborates with key technology SMEs to address architecture requirements.
• Demonstrates high‑level communication skills, influence management and presentation ability when working with executive teams.
• Appropriately assesses risk, drives compliance and supervises activities to maintain standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Data Architecture experience.
• Artificial Intelligence experience is a plus.
• Banking or Financial Services experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with diverse teams.
• Ability to lead projects across multiple organizations.
• Ability to work under pressure and facilitate discussions.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s (MBA) degree or equivalent experience.

Salary and Benefits

Primary Location Full‑time Salary Range: $107,120.00 – $160,680.00.
