Job summary

Randstad Digital Americas in Severn, MD, is seeking a highly skilled data professional to serve as the technical anchor for the platform engineering team, designing, modernizing, and securing a massive analytical estate with native cloud solutions.

This hands-on architectural role partners with business leaders to shape enterprise-wide integration initiatives, while delivering strong data governance, CI/CD automation, and robust ELT/ETL pipelines.

Qualifications

• Must have 10–12+ years in a data-related technical role.
• At least 5 years architecting modern solutions in Azure and Fabric ecosystems.
• Hands-on experience building scalable data pipelines with Advanced SQL and Python/PySpark.
• Experience with DevOps practices, version control, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong communication and executive-level presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable data products.
• Mentor data engineers and provide architectural guidance without people management duties.
• Design and deploy ingestion frameworks and ELT/ETL pipelines across batch and real-time workloads.
• Architect and optimize Lakehouse structures with Medallion-style layering standards.
• Drive CI/CD automation, IaC, and data governance controls.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate directly with cross-functional technical teams and corporate business leaders to translate complex requirements into scalable, AI-ready data products.
• Act as a player-coach, actively writing Python and SQL while mentoring internal data engineers and providing strong architectural guidance without direct people management duties.
• Design and deploy configuration-based ingestion frameworks and robust ELT/ETL pipelines across batch and real-time streaming workloads.
• Architect and optimize modern Lakehouse structures ensuring strict adherence to Medallion-style layering standards.
• Drive operational excellence by implementing CI/CD automation, declarative Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and stringent data governance controls.

Qualifications

Must-Haves: 10 to 12+ years of overall progressive experience in a data-related technical role. At least 5 years of proven experience architecting modern solutions specifically within Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric ecosystems. Deep, hands-on expertise building scalable data pipelines using Advanced SQL and Python/PySpark. Demonstrated success applying DevOps practices, version control, and Infrastructure as Code. Exceptional corporate maturity and communication skills, with the ability to confidently present to and align with executive business leaders.

Nice-to-Haves: Prior experience architecting data integrations for major enterprise resource planning (ERP) or CRM system rollouts. Hands-on experience implementing enterprise data governance tools. Background in the heavy industrial or construction sectors.
