Job summary

Paul Hastings, a leading international law firm, seeks a Senior Data Analyst, Risk Management and Compliance in New York or multiple US offices. The role supports Risk department reporting, develops dashboards, and partners with IT and consultants to enhance data-driven decision making.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of data analysis experience, strong SQL/Power BI skills, and experience in professional services. This exempt role offers competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Management, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
• 5–7 years of data analysis experience, including senior or lead analyst responsibilities.
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI, SQL, SSAS, VBA, and Microsoft Excel; Access and PowerPoint experience a plus.
• Law Firm or professional services experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gather, clean, validate, and consolidate data from Risk systems, databases, spreadsheets, APIs, and external sources.
• Analyze complex quantitative and qualitative datasets to identify trends, risk indicators, root causes, and business insights.
• Design and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Excel, Power BI, SSAS, SQL, VBA, or similar tools.
• Translate complex data into clear narratives and visuals for technical and non-technical audiences; establish reporting templates and automation.
• Mentor junior analysts and review work for accuracy, quality, and consistency.
• Collaborate with Risk, IT, Compliance, and outside consultants on data and reporting needs.
