In this highly visible role, you will lead the discovery of insights that inform business strategy, drive impact, and influence leadership decisions at the highest level.You will operate with significant autonomy - proactively identifying opportunities, anticipating stakeholder needs, and creating data-driven narratives that guide strategy. This role requires someone who can think critically, navigate ambiguity, and independently manage complex analytical projects from inception to execution. You will put yourself in the shoes of executives and key stakeholders, translating strategic goals into actionable analysis and delivering insights before the questions are even asked.**What You’ll Do:*** Analyze and segment audiences to uncover behavioral patterns and identify opportunities that inform product and content strategies.* Evaluate retention drivers and cross-property engagement to understand how users interact across Yahoo’s ecosystem, highlighting opportunities to increase loyalty and lifetime value.* Monitor and interpret revenue trends to assess business performance, identify growth levers, and flag potential risks early.* Design, build, and maintain executive-ready dashboards that distill complex data into intuitive, actionable views for senior leadership.* Develop automated reporting systems and alerts (via Slack or email) to surface significant shifts in key performance metrics in real time.* Translate insights into clear strategic recommendations, ensuring leadership can act quickly and confidently on emerging opportunities or challenges.* Collaborate closely with executives and cross-functional partners to define critical business questions, frame analyses, and guide data-driven decision making.**What we’re Looking For:*** 5+ years of experience as a business analyst, data analyst, or in a similar role.* Strong SQL experience, with the ability to write complex queries and optimize performance across large datasets.* Skills in Python for automation and advanced analytics.* Strong experience creating business intelligence reports and dashboards using tools such as Looker or Tableau.* Expert in data storytelling, with the ability to translate complex analyses into clear, persuasive narratives.* Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and a bias toward action.* Excellent communication skills, confident presenting insights to senior leadership.* A bachelor's degree is a plus, but not required.The material job duties and responsibilities of this role include those listed above as well as adhering to Yahoo policies; exercising sound judgment; working effectively, safely and inclusively with others; exhibiting trustworthiness and meeting expectations; and safeguarding business operations and brand integrity.At Yahoo, we offer flexible hybrid work options that our employees love!
