Job summary

Intrepid, an SPA Company, seeks a Senior Business Analyst to join the Defense Health Agency data analytics initiative. You will gather data requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and help build scalable data pipelines and products across health systems.

You will collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, and mission users to validate data products, support UAT, and ensure alignment with healthcare data standards and governance practices.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance
• 10+ years of business/data analysis experience
• Strong SQL: multi-table joins, window functions, CTEs
• Translate requirements into technical data requirements
• Profile data quality and validation criteria
• Experience with Databricks and ETL/ELT pipelines
• Clear written artifacts: requirements, mappings, data dictionaries
• Experience in agile delivery with user stories backlog
• Communicate with non-technical stakeholders and engineers
• Manage multiple workstreams with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of relational and dimensional data modeling

Responsibilities

• Elicit and document data requirements from experts across clinical, operational, financial, and readiness domains.
• Translate business questions into technical data requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Profile source systems using SQL to assess data availability and quality.
• Define data quality rules and validate datasets with engineering.
• Maintain data dictionaries and metadata artifacts for enterprise catalogs.
• Perform hands-on data analysis, transformation queries, and validation notebooks.
• Support user acceptance testing and confirm data products meet needs.
• Write user stories and manage the requirements backlog in agile ceremonies.
• Bridge Government owners, data stewards and delivery teams daily.
• Escalate data gaps and governance questions with a recommended path forward.
