Aurora is seeking an exceptional Data Analyst to accelerate the development and operation of the Aurora Driver. You will craft analytics pipelines, build dashboards, and partner with data scientists and software leaders to turn data into actionable insights for safety and performance.

You will work in a hybrid environment with in-office days to support collaboration across teams, contributing to scalable data solutions and impactful business outcomes at Aurora.

Qualifications

• 3–4+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Data Engineer or similar technical role.
• Experience delivering end-to-end data analytics projects; building data pipelines with safety-conscious data products.
• Able to systematically approach open-ended questions to scalable data solutions.
• Advanced knowledge of relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL) and data engineering best practices.
• Intermediate knowledge of data analytics infrastructure (DBT, visualization tools).
• Proficient in Python and able to communicate insights clearly.
• Able to collaborate across stakeholders in a fast-moving environment.

What We Are Looking For

On the Aurora Data Solutions team, you will join a world-class group whose mission is generating insights and intelligence to improve the Aurora Driver and help accelerate our path towards safe and broad commercialization of Autonomous Vehicle technology. We are looking for an exceptional Data Analyst that can play a key role in accelerating the development of the Aurora Driver by contributing towards the automation, monitoring, and analysis of our development and operational processes. This is an opportunity to leverage vast amounts of data from both online (on-road) and offline (simulation) test modalities to help Aurora achieve its product and commercialization goals.

In this role you will

• Develop reporting and analytics to optimize the value of the data we collect from our growing truck fleet
• Work closely with data scientist teammates and cross-functional Software leadership to help assess and prioritize data sourcing efforts
• Partner with Software teams to design and implement metrics and dashboards to accelerate their development processes and help them measure, understand, and improve performance
• Collaborate with the larger Data Science & Analytics community to influence Aurora’s tooling ecosystem in support of data analytics work streams
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 3-4+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Data Engineer or similar technical role
• Experience taking Data Analytics projects end-to-end: synthesizing business needs, building data pipelines, adhering to high engineering rigor for safety-critical data products, and clearly communicating insights
• Able to systematically approach open-ended questions to identify pragmatic data solutions that scale
• Advanced knowledge and experience using relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) and familiarity with best practices for Data Engineering
• Intermediate knowledge of data analytics infrastructure, including data transformation tools such as DBT and visualization frameworks and tools
• Competent in Python, able to write readable code that others can easily interpret and build on
• Able to work effectively in a highly cross-functional, fast-moving and high-stakes environment
• Proven ability to communicate technical, data-driven analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences across stakeholders, including translating and cascading Executive input into their work
  
  

Desirable Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MS) in Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field
• Experience with data science workflows such as classification, clustering, etc.
• Experience in the Autonomous Vehicles, Robotics, or Advanced Transportation spaces
• Experience using Amazon Web Services (AWS) tools
  
  

For roles based in Mountain View, CA and San Francisco, CA: The salary range for this position is $115,000- $184,000 per year.

For roles based in Pittsburgh, PA: The salary range for this position is $104,000 - $166,000 per year.

Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
