Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in analytical, research or health-related field; Master’s preferred with stats/process analysis coursework.
  • 2+ years in health care field or MCO setting; master’s +1 year acceptable.
  • Experience with healthcare data (HEDIS/CMS CMS Core Set) preferred.
  • Two years SAS programming for data manipulation and reporting; SAS Macros/PROC SQL knowledge preferred.
  • Experience with Tableau, Python or MS Power Automate is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Multitask across projects to meet deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement and analytics sophistication.

Job description

As part of IPRO’s Managed Care Department, the Senior Data Analyst performs complex analyses using advanced technical expertise and translates analytical results into clear, actionable written summaries. A primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the quality, accuracy, and integrity of programs, measures, rates, and analytic deliverables through established quality assurance and validation processes. The Senior Data Analyst is also responsible for identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and enhance analytical processes across the department. Duties to include but not limited to:



  • Analyze MCO encounter data for accuracy, completeness and consistency.

  • Conduct quality assurance and validation activities for programs, measures, rates, reports, and analytic deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with established specifications and methodologies.

  • Identify and develop queries using complex data analyses to support program evaluation, quality measurement, and operational decision-making.

  • Collaborate with management, analysts, programmers, and subject matter experts to ensure deliverables meet business requirements, regulatory standards, and client expectations.

  • Identify opportunities to automate processes, streamline workflows, and improve the effectiveness of analytic and quality assurance activities

  • Translates internal/external client business requirements into actionable instructions for meeting client needs.

  • Represent department leadership on customer and client calls for specific areas of subject matter expertise, as needed.

  • Ensures all analyses use high-quality data. Develops strong understanding of data sources and works with IPRO and client data management staff to ensure complete, accurate, and timely data.

  • Demonstrates the ability to multitask and manage many simultaneous projects and last‑minute emergencies to meet deadlines while still maintaining a strong attention to detail.

  • Supports continuous quality improvement. Contributes regularly to improving data and analytics sophistication and efficiency within the department and across the IPRO enterprise.

  • Design analytics (reports, Tableau dashboards) to respond to very complex requests. Develops advanced quantitative approaches (drawing on a range of methodologies) to address client needs.


This position is office based at our Jericho, NY office.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Strong healthcare analytical skills. Creates solutions that broadly support the business across clients.

  • Demonstrates advanced expertise in healthcare data domains, including claims, encounters, eligibility, provider information, and electronic health records (EHR), with the ability to interpret and analyze complex datasets to drive actionable insight.

  • Ability to solve complex business problems and opportunities through the design and development of efficient, high-quality and customer-centric analytic solutions.

  • Ability to distill complex technical content and issues into audience‑specific and layperson‑friendly terms.

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and client deliverables.

  • Possesses stellar communications skills, both written and oral; able to produce effective written summaries outlining the results of complex analyses, with strong people skills with the ability to interact effectively with external customers.

  • Demonstrates mastery in the following toolsets: MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.

  • Experience with SAS programming.

  • Familiarity with HEDIS, CMS Protocols or HIPAA encounter file formats strongly preferred.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:


  • Bachelor’s degree in an analytical, research or health‑related field, required. Master’s degree in public administration, public policy, public health or related social science with course work including both statistical and process analysis, preferred.

  • Two (2) years experience working in the health care field or equivalent experience in an MCO, preferred. Will consider a Master’s degree ans one (1) year of experience.

  • Previous experience working with healthcare data (HEDIS and/or CMS Adult & Child Core Set performance measures), preferred.

  • Two (2) years of SAS programming experience related to data manipulation and reporting. Knowledge of SAS Macros and PROC SQL strongly preferred.

  • Previous experience working with Tableau, Python and/or MS Power Automate is strongly preferred.
