Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Data and AI Architect to join our Data & AI Technology group. You will lead architecture, engineering and analytics initiatives to deliver actionable business insights for AEC professionals and client outcomes.

Responsibilities include designing scalable data/AI solutions, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, and developing comprehensive design docs. This role requires a strong Azure/Databricks background and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field
• 5 years of related experience
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree

Responsibilities

• Develop and design the architecture for data and AI solutions, ensuring each solution is scalable, secure, and reliable.
• Engage with business units to understand requirements and translate them into technical designs.
• Create data and AI architectural solutions to complex architecture, engineering, and environmental science problems.
• Design and implement strategies to scale data and AI solutions across different business units.
• Create detailed architecture and technical design docs for data and AI solutions.
• Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, data analysts, and stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of latest developments and emerging technologies and apply them where appropriate.
• Assist with documentation, standards, workflows and marketing descriptions as needed.
• Present to external audiences as needed.
