Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) seeks a Sr. Technical Subject Matter Expert to provide onsite DARPA support in Arlington, VA.

The role requires a PhD in STEM or equivalent with 20+ years of experience and 10+ years in DARPA-like programs, plus demonstrated leadership in advanced R&D efforts. The candidate will collaborate with TTO leadership, craft analyses and explanatory docs for complex programs, and help shape portfolio strategies.

Qualifications

PhD in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) or a Master’s/Bachelor’s with 20+ years of qualifying experience.
20+ years in a relevant technical or scientific field.
Recognized expert with advanced techniques and practices.
10+ years with DARPA programs or similar advanced R&D efforts.
Experience managing R&D programs from inception to closeout.
Active DoD clearance may be required; onsite work in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities

Provide onsite DARPA support for high-risk, high-reward R&D projects and frameworks.
Assist TTO leadership and PMs with new efforts and oversight of execution.
Communicate with stakeholders and develop explanatory documentation for technical programs.
Identify national security challenges and help develop portfolio-level strategies.
Thrive in a collaborative team while delivering time-critical tasks independently.
