Job summary

Southern California Edison is seeking a Senior Dam Safety Engineer in Rosemead, CA. You will work with the Dam Safety Team to ensure dam safety maintenance and capital projects meet FERC and DSOD requirements, including field and construction support and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include field inspections, developing maintenance strategies, preparing dam safety reports and briefings, and serving as a subject matter expert on dam safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a scientific/technical/math field.
• Seven or more years of experience in engineering within operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.
• Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Oversees engineers performing diagnostics, monitoring and inspecting equipment, and reviewing grid technologies, building relationships to facilitate cross-functional knowledge transfer of related work groups.
• Leads the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and other documentation to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Collaborates and leads with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless development, integration and implementation of future technologies and asset performance management strategies.
• Assists in a variety of engineering and business initiatives and grid strategies, including development of innovative procedures and design recommendations.
• Provides support for new equipment installation and startup, then leads the hand over processes to the ramp and sustaining phases.
• Leads junior engineers in investigation of threats on the distribution system infrastructure based on observations and findings.
• Gathers and correlates basic data using engineering studies and procedures, which may include routine and diagnostic testing of components and systems.
• Facilitates training and professional development opportunities for engineering team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
