About the role

As a Senior D365 F&O Technical Developer, you’ll make an impact by shaping digital transformation through designing, developing, and delivering scalable, end-to-end Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations solutions. You’ll collaborate with Spanish-speaking clients, mentor developers, and elevate the technical capabilities of the team. Your passion for innovation, problem-solving, and continuous improvement will help ensure our solutions meet Microsoft’s highest standards and drive lasting impact. You will be a valued member of the Cloud Infrastructure and Security team and work collaboratively with the Program Manager.

In this role, you will
  • Design and develop high-quality customizations using X++, OOP, and best-in-class D365 F&O architecture practices.
  • Create and enhance SSRS reports, customizing out-of-the-box (OOB) solutions to meet business needs.
  • Build and manage integrations with external applications using real-time and batch processing methods.
  • Conduct technical feasibility and impact analysis for new features and upgrades.
  • Lead technical design reviews, code merges, and performance tuning initiatives.
  • Oversee environment setup, version upgrades, and deployments through Lifecycle Services (LCS) while implementing
  • DevOps pipelines for code migration, automation, and continuous integration.
  • Utilize Microsoft Sure Step and Agile methodologies for streamlined delivery and risk management.
  • Partner closely with functional consultants and cross-functional teams to align technical design with business objectives.
  • Lead gap analyses and collaborate in blueprinting workshops to define technical requirements.
  • Establish and maintain integration strategies and technical governance frameworks to ensure consistency and compliance with best practices.
  • Evaluate and recommend ISV solutions to enhance core D365 F&O capabilities.
  • Mentor and guide technical team members, fostering collaboration and ensuring adherence to quality and delivery standards.

What you need to have to be considered
  • Full bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
  • 8+ years of hands‑on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) development.
  • 10+ years in IT with a focus on ERP solutions and enterprise architecture.
  • Minimum 3 full-cycle end-to-end D365 implementations (including design, development, testing, and go‑live).
  • Proven expertise in X++, SSRS, D365 customizations, and integrations (middleware/APIs).
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps, code versioning, and release management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Lifecycle Services (LCS) and upgrade management.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform technical design, TDD, RCA, and performance optimization.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Sure Step or similar implementation frameworks.

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $91,000 - $107,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
