Cherokee Federal is seeking a Project Lead/Senior Information System Security Specialist to provide program management and cybersecurity support for FHWA’s Cyber Security Management Support program. The role combines project management with ISSO duties under the FHWA ISSM.

The ideal candidate holds a CISSP, cloud-security certs, PMP, and deep PMBOK-based experience, with hands-on expertise in Tenable Nessus, Splunk, and related tools, and a proven ability to coordinate across government and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or related field.
• CISSP certification required.
• Cloud-security certification (Azure or similar) desired.
• PMP certification desirable.
• Extensive PMBOK and project-management experience.
• Experience with NIST, FIPS, FISMA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and oversee project plans, schedules, risk logs, issue logs, communications plans, quality plans, and related program documentation.
• Coordinate program activities, tasks, milestones, staffing, finances, and deliverables from initiation through completion.
• Ensure work aligns with task-order requirements, schedules, and milestones.
• Track deliverables and manage corrective actions through resolution.
• Prepare monthly quality and performance reports and status briefings.
