Base-2 Solutions in Reston, VA is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer 3 to safeguard digital assets and sensitive information. The role emphasizes design, implementation, and maintenance of cybersecurity infrastructure while staying current on trends and security best practices.

The ideal candidate has a TS/SCI with CI Poly, 7+ years in security engineering, and hands-on experience with log analysis (Splunk), incident response, and DevSecOps in IL5–IL6+ environments.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret/SCI with CI Polygraph.
• 7+ years of experience as a cybersecurity engineer.
• Experience implementing continuous monitoring for compliance with security controls.
• Strong skills in log collection and analysis (Splunk).
• Experience with government frameworks (NIST SP 800-53, RMF, ICD 503, FISMA, FedRAMP).
• Experience securing cloud, container, and DevSecOps in IL5–IL6+ environments.
• CISSP or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, encryption).
• Conduct regular security assessments to identify vulnerabilities.
• Develop and implement incident response plans.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enforce security policies and standards.
• Monitor traffic, logs, and alerts to detect incidents and respond.
