Job summary

Bloomin' Brands is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to lead security operations across our national restaurant company from the Tampa, FL area. You will partner with IT, Compliance, Operations, and business units to protect data, ensure PCI compliance, and defend systems from evolving threats.

You will mentor engineers, drive multi-cloud security initiatives, and help integrate security into SDLC and infrastructure deployment while staying ahead of emerging threats.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business management, or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of information security or related technology experience with increasing responsibilities.
• Hands-on experience in security operations including incident response, endpoint protection, malware/threat analysis, network/host intrusion detection, vulnerability management, MFA, PAM, and email security.
• Deep knowledge of enterprise technologies and processes (Networking, Virtualization, Cloud Computing).
• Advanced knowledge of network protocols and operating systems (Windows, Unix, Linux, Databases).
• CISSP or other security-related certifications (CEH, GCIH, GIAC) preferred.

Job description

The Senior Cyber Security Engineer is responsible for leading, planning, coordinating, and executing security operations and initiatives across our national restaurant company. This role partners with internal leaders in IT, Compliance, Operations, and other business units to protect employee and consumer data, ensure PCI compliance, and defend our systems from evolving cyber threats. The Senior Cyber Security Engineer will also play a key role in our multi-cloud security journey and mentor other team members.

This role is based in our Tampa, FL Restaurant Support Center and will work a hybrid schedule (mix of onsite and remote).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Responsible for implementing, supporting and validating efficacy of Security technologies and processes
• Provides directions to vendors, partners and IT staff for the secure implementation and deployment of BBI's technologies
• Manage and optimize security stack to include: SIEM, Endpoint security, Identity and Access Management, SSL certificates, vulnerability scans and remediation management.
• Conduct advanced security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scans to identify and address potential weaknesses in our systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and infrastructure deployment processes.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the company’s IT infrastructure and operations to ensure a holistic security approach.
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, including PCI.
• Stay current with emerging cyber threats, trends, and technologies, and recommend proactive measures to enhance our security posture.
• Participate in the evaluation and selection of security tools, technologies, and vendors to enhance our cybersecurity capabilities.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and provide leadership during business-impacting events.
• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, to deliver full project lifecycle solutions.
• Lead monitoring, investigation, and response to security events and incidents, ensuring timely and effective resolution as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Management, or equivalent work experience required.

Experience:

• 10+ years of Information Security or related technology experience, with increasing responsibilities.
