Job summary

Koniag Data Solutions, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, seeks a Cybersecurity Architect to support SBA in Washington, DC. The role requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust and to lead enterprise security architecture across cloud, on‑prem, and hybrid environments.

You will collaborate with SBA stakeholders, oversee RMF/ATO processes, and design Zero Trust architectures while guiding risk management, threat modeling, and security controls to protect agency missions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, IT, CS, systems engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience with at least 5 years in security architecture.
  • Experience designing architectures for complex federal government IT environments (multi-system, multi-domain, hybrid cloud).
  • Certifications: CISSP, CISSP-ISSAP, CISM, SABSA, GDSA.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evolve SBA’s enterprise cybersecurity architecture in alignment with federal policies and SBA requirements.
  • Design security architectures for on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments ensuring SDLC security integration.
  • Advise SBA leadership on cybersecurity architecture, threats, and security investments.
  • Lead documentation: ADRs, reference architectures, security patterns, and roadmaps.
  • Assess technologies and prepare business cases for SBA security investments.
  • Collaborate with SBA IT architects and program offices to integrate security requirements.
  • Provide guidance on Zero Trust implementation across SBA’s enterprise environment.
  • Support RMF/ATO processes, SSPs, risk assessments, and POA&Ms per NIST guidance.
  • Develop threat models using MITRE ATT&CK, STRIDE, PASTA, etc.
  • Lead reviews and remediation roadmaps for architecture gaps and non‑compliance.
