Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure security is integral to the SDLC, aligning with DOS policies, NIST 800-53, and STIGs.
• Design secure networking architectures within CA enclaves and integrate with DoS enterprise networks.
• Lead implementation of high-availability security tooling including WAFs, DDoS protection, IDS/IPS.
• Develop FedRAMP-compliant cloud systems meeting data sovereignty and encryption requirements.
• Architect SIEM integration, log aggregation, and real-time threat detection.
• Provide security leadership for infrastructure initiatives and DevSecOps tooling (Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, SonarQube).
• Conduct risk assessments, coordinate penetration testing, and deliver remediation guidance.

The Opportunity

CACI is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer for the Global Mission Operations Support (GMOS) contract, supporting the Department of State. Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and implementation of comprehensive security solutions across global CA IT infrastructure supporting 40,000+ users across 350+ facilities


• Ensure all engineering designs and infrastructure deployments incorporate comprehensive security best practices throughout the system development lifecycle, validating compliance with DOS security policies, FISMA requirements, NIST 800-53 controls, and STIGs


• Design secure networking architectures within CA enclaves and complex network integrations with Department of State enterprise networks, implementing micro-segmentation strategies and boundary protection mechanisms


• Lead implementation of advanced network security solutions including high-availability load balancing for public-facing websites, DDoS detection and mitigation systems, web application firewalls, and intrusion prevention systems


• Design and implement FedRAMP-compliant cloud systems ensuring Department data sovereignty requirements, boundary protections, encryption, and CCGB approval


• Develop and implement comprehensive security monitoring, logging, and alerting capabilities architecting SIEM integration, log aggregation frameworks, and real-time threat detection systems


• Provide expert security guidance and technical leadership for infrastructure architecture initiatives ensuring alignment with DOS enterprise architecture standards and Federal cybersecurity frameworks


• Master and architect DevSecOps tooling ecosystems including Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, and SonarQube, constructing sophisticated CI/CD pipelines with automated security testing


• Conduct advanced security risk assessments, penetration testing coordination, and security architecture reviews for complex systems, providing detailed technical analysis with remediation strategies


• Serve as technical security expert and mentor for security engineering teams, providing leadership on complex security challenges and driving security-conscious culture across IT service delivery organizations

Qualifications

Required –

• Bachelor's degree + 8 years of experience in related fields, such as cybersecurity engineering, security architecture, systems security engineering, network security, or DevSecOps at enterprise scale; equivalencies considered.


• Active Top Secret Clearance


• Proven experience with enterprise-scale security engineering, security architecture design, and secure infrastructure design for complex, distributed environments


• Demonstrated leadership experience managing complex security projects, leading technical teams, and coordinating security initiatives across distributed enterprise environments


• Expert-level knowledge of security frameworks including NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP requirements, and advanced network security architectures


• Excellent leadership abilities with proven experience planning and leading major security engineering initiatives, functioning as a subject matter expert, and supervising security teams

Desired –

• Prior experience supporting federal agencies, especially the Department of State


• Advanced professional security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), GIAC Security Expert (GSE), or Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
