This hands-on leadership role requires extensive experience in incident response, threat detection, and security frameworks like NIST and FISMA. The position is on-site based in Washington, DC, and demands collaboration in hybrid environments. Preferred qualifications include CISSP certification and experience with Microsoft Azure security services. An active Public Trust is also desirable.

Qualifications

• Six plus (6+) years of experience in cybersecurity operations, incident response, or security engineering in a federal setting.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cyber operations and respond to advanced threats.
• An active Public Trust or had one in a recent position.

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity operations, including monitoring, detection, analysis, and response to security events.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for incident response, performing root cause analysis and remediation.
• Design, implement, and optimize SIEM use cases, detection rules, and automated response workflows.
