Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; 8+ years of related experience
• Expert-level hands-on SOC operations, cyber defense analysis, incident investigation and incident response in complex environments
• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph eligibility and ability to maintain it

Aufgaben

• Serve as the senior hands-on technical authority for SOC watch operations and be a founding SME for a new DoD SOC
• Lead complex cyber defense investigations and incident-response activities with technical direction when scope or options are uncertain
• Perform advanced forensic and security analysis of digital information, telemetry, firewall/IDS data and authentication activity
• Establish and improve investigative methodology, triage standards, severity criteria, evidence requirements and incident workflows
• Provide senior technical guidance on watch readiness, investigative quality, risk, staffing proficiency and response considerations
• Mentor SOC Analysts and coordinate complex incidents with government stakeholders and other agencies
• Translate watch-operations requirements into telemetry, SIEM/SOAR, network monitoring and automation capabilities
• Identify gaps and develop recommendations to improve SOC effectiveness and enterprise security posture
• Lead development of SOPs, runbooks, and training scenarios; drive lessons-learned actions
• Conduct proactive threat hunting and advanced analysis to identify undetected activity and validate defenses
• Analyze incident trends and provide input to leadership briefings and defensive priorities
• Apply network forensics, host analysis, and threat-informed defense techniques as appropriate
• Advanced malware reverse engineering or pentesting experience is beneficial but not required
