Job summary

Parallon is seeking a Senior CVIR Revenue Integrity Coding Specialist to ensure accurate coding and charging in CVIR services across Cath Lab/IR/EP lines. You will educate clinical and department teams, coordinate with IT/EHR and CDM groups, and optimize revenue integrity processes to improve reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree required; equivalent work experience may substitute.
• Minimum 1 year coding/HIM experience.
• Minimum 3 years healthcare experience (hospital ops/clinical).
• RHIA/RHIT/CPC/COC/CCS or CIRCC certifications required and obtained within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Assigns/Codes Charges CPCS/CPT based on records for Cath Lab/IR/EP lines.
• Coordinate with facilities to obtain missing documentation.
• Identify charge capture trends and address issues with leadership.
• Understand/apply National and Local Coverage Determination; educate departments.
• Review Chargemaster assignments for accuracy and compliance.
• Support Revenue Integrity to optimize processes and reimbursement.
• Provide education to clinical and coding stakeholders as needed.
• Ensure CDM/system updates result in appropriate reimbursement.
• Monitor KPIs to identify RI initiatives for assigned facilities.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Senior CVIR Revenue Integrity Coding Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (CVIR) services are charged and coded correctly. This position is a specialized senior medical coder in the Cath Lab, IR, and EP service lines. The Senior RI Charge Specialist educates specialty physicians and facility departments on coding and billing practices. Consults with IT&S, E.H.R. Specialists, and CDM Departments to ensure accurate CDM, Meditech, and Hemodynamic systems are set up appropriately in all clinical modules. Consults with Division and Corporate Leadership on charging and coding trends to identify financial opportunities.

What you will do in this role:

• Assigns/Codes Charges CPCS/CPT Coding based on medical record documentation for Cath Lab/IR/EP service lines
• Coordinates with facility/departments to obtain missing medical record documentation as needed
• Coordinates with department leaders to identify trends and address issues related to charge capture
• Ability to understand/apply National and Local Coverage Determination and educate facility departments routinely
• Performs in-depth reviews and verifies the appropriateness of patient charges and Chargemaster (CDM) assignments
• Supports the Revenue Integrity team by optimizing processes to ensure services rendered are accurately reported and reimbursed while maintaining compliance
• Provides focused education to clinical and coding stakeholders as needed
• Participates to ensure CDM/system updates result in appropriate reimbursement
• Monitors any applicable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify new RI initiatives that are applicable to their assigned facility

What qualifications you will need:

• Associates Degree Required. Equivalent work experience may substitute education requirements.
• Minimum 1 year coding/HIM experience
• Minimum 3 years healthcare experience (hospital operations, clinical operations, etc.)
• RHIA or RHIT or CPC or COC or CCS, or CIRCC certifications required (must obtain certification within one year of start date).
