Job summary

Allen Engineering and Science is seeking a Cultural Resources Principal Investigator to lead and manage cultural resources projects from proposal development through project completion. Responsibilities include project acquisition support, research design, regulatory compliance, budgeting, scheduling, staffing, and quality control.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Anthropology or Archaeology from an accredited institution.
• At least five years of archaeological field experience, including two years in project management/supervision.
• Strong knowledge of cultural resources regulations (Section 106, NEPA, ARPA, NAGPRA).
• Experience managing surveys, testing, mitigation, monitoring, and technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage projects from proposal development to completion.
• Support project acquisition through planning, proposals, and cost estimates.
• Develop research designs, field strategies, and project procedures.
• Manage budgets, schedules, staffing, logistics, and execution.
• Oversee fieldwork, coordinate personnel, equipment, and documentation.
• Ensure QA/QC of reports, regulatory documents, and communications.
• Coordinate with agencies, clients, landowners and stakeholders.
• Travel and conduct fieldwork as needed.
