Job summary

Independent Software seeks a Cryptanalytic Computer Scientist Level 3 in Annapolis Junction, MD to apply your expertise in computer science, mathematics, and engineering to solve cryptographic and security challenges supporting mission-critical operations.

You will design algorithms, develop mathematical models, analyze vulnerabilities, and contribute to high-performance computing efforts, building data analytics capabilities with Python, Spark, C++, and XKS.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in CS, mathematics or engineering with cryptography focus.
• Experience designing mathematical models or algorithms to solve problems.
• Knowledge of cryptographic principles, secure systems, and vulnerability analysis.
• Experience with HPC or optimization techniques.
• Proficient in Python, C++, or Java; strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and evaluate algorithms for cryptographic problems.
• Develop mathematical models to analyze cryptographic systems.
• Assess implementations to identify weaknesses and propose secure solutions.
• Support secure systems to protect sensitive information against threats.
• Contribute to high-performance computing to improve efficiency of cryptographic processes.
• Build data analytics capabilities including data evaluation and processing with Python, Spark, and C++.
