Job summary

Rigetti Computing in the United States seeks a Senior Mechanical/Cryogenic Engineer to own the mechanical architecture of our quantum hardware, from room-temperature infrastructure down to the millikelvin core of our dilution refrigerators.

You will lead cryogenic hardware design, perform thermal and vibration analyses, and collaborate with quantum physicists, RF engineers, and systems teams to drive end-to-end hardware development and qualification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
• 7+ years designing complex mechanical or electromechanical systems with end-to-end hardware ownership.
• Expert SolidWorks for large assemblies and GD&T-compliant drawings; experience with thermal/structural analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical design of cryogenic hardware from 300 K to millikelvin, including thermal anchoring and RF wiring.
• Lead the full design lifecycle: concept, CAD, drawings, BOMs, tolerance analysis, prototype builds, qualification testing, manufacturing release.
