Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare Incorporated is seeking a Respiratory Therapist II to provide advanced respiratory care and independent therapy delivery. The RT II collaborates with physicians, nurses, and therapists to develop and implement patient care plans, including ventilator management and education.

The role requires Virginia licensure, 1+ year experience, and BLS; ACLS and NICU NR P requirements within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Virginia licensure required; CRT or RRT credentials encouraged.
• 1+ year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist preferred.
• BLS required at hire; ACLS within 90 days; NICU NRP within 90 days when applicable.
• NBRC credentials preferred; AARC membership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers and assesses respiratory therapies with high proficiency and minimal supervision.
• Establishes and manages mechanical ventilation and evaluates ventilator care plan.
• Performs quality patient care and collaborates with multidisciplinary team.
• Maintains equipment, ensures safety, and provides patient and family education.

Education

Graduate of Respiratory Care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (preferred)

Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in Virginia

AHA BLS Provider CPR

AHA ACLS

NRP (for NICU) within 90 days

CRT or RRT (NBRC)

Member of AARC (preferred)
