Job description

Overview

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.

This position conducts an independent review of the Bank's commercial, business, and consumer loan portfolios. Assesses portfolios for credit quality, documentation accuracy, and policy compliance. Analyzes financial data to determine ongoing creditworthiness and classifies loans according to risk. Serves as senior advisor to management on identified issues, assisting in initiatives to resolve discrepancies and manage risk. May interact with external parties including regulators and/or external auditors.


Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Review - Analyzes information to assess portfolio quality, identify credit risk and opportunities. Performs an advanced analytical review of complex selected loan relationships to verify compliance with regulatory guidelines and bank policies. Verifies quality of supporting documentation and credit risk mitigation based on financial, collateral, and documentation analysis. Analyzes trends, deficiencies, and other areas of concern and communicates analysis and status to senior management. Serves as a subject matter expert.
  • Leadership - Serves as mentor to more junior associates in the department. Completes secondary review of associate work to ensure work aligns with departmental expectations. Participates in the development and training of department associates.
  • Project Management - Leads projects including planning, oversight, and reporting. May serve on, or lead, special projects related to departmental initiatives. Serves as member of due diligence team for future acquisitions, as needed.
  • Collaboration - Maintains effective and professional relationships with internal associates and Bank management. May interact with external parties, as needed. Serve as a primary point-of-contact with Bank management for assigned areas of responsibility.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Commercial Lending or Credit Administration OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Commercial Lending or Credit Administration

License or Certification Type: Credit Risk Certification PreferredSkill(s): Knowledge of accounting and finance principles, Possess thorough knowledge of credit management and portfolio , Knowledge of current laws and regulations, loan documentation, and Bank policy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working for Large Financial Institutions with exposure to supporting regulators and business units.
  • Strong written communication skills, preferably with experience in proofing and peer reviewing reports.
  • Experience with a variety of different lines of business, portfolio types, and deal sizes over 50M.
  • Track record of being an advocate to the business and displaying consultant style support in issue managment.
  • Strong experience in Underwriting, portfolio managment with and emphasis in Middle Market and Healthcare segments.
  • Strong time management skills and being able to meet deadlines while also supporting peers with projects.

The base pay for this position is generally between $115,000.00 and $175,000.00. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
