Job summary

First International Bank and Trust is seeking an experienced Credit Analyst (Credit Analyst III) to support our commercial lending team by delivering accurate, timely credit analysis that informs sound lending decisions. You will partner with loan officers to evaluate financial performance, assess risk, and contribute to portfolio growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field; 3–5+ years of credit analysis experience, preferably in commercial lending within a bank or credit union or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to analyze complex financial statements, including business and personal tax returns.
• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present credit risk and recommendations.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with credit analysis software (e.g., Sageworks) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and supporting documentation to assess creditworthiness across commercial lines (CRE and C&I).
• Prepare clear credit presentations, loan summaries, and annual reviews.
• Evaluate financial trends, cash flow, and repayment capacity, identifying key risks and mitigants.
• Partner with loan officers to gather information, structure credits, and support relationships.
• May participate in customer and prospect meetings to better understand borrower needs.
• Review and provide feedback on credit work completed by others, as appropriate.
• Utilize credit systems and tools (e.g., Sageworks) effectively.
• Manage multiple deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail.
• Participate in training and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
