Job summary

Schema Design, based in Seattle, seeks a talented data visualization and web experience developer to conceptualize, prototype, and build data-driven websites and web apps. You will work across projects that blend design and data to create meaningful experiences for clients in tech, media, and beyond.

You will collaborate with designers and technologists, present work to clients, and balance rapid prototyping with project goals to deliver high-quality experiences.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of applicable professional experience.
• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Human-Computer Interaction Design, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience creating data visualizations in D3.js.
• Fluent in coding for the web using Javascript and Node.js, incorporating good coding practices.
• Experience with creating and deploying websites and web applications, including using AWS.
• Experience with frameworks such as React and VueJS.
• Familiarity with content management systems such as Craft, Contentful or Sanity.
• Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Sketch and Adobe CS.
• Ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working collaboratively with clients.

Responsibilities

• Concept, prototype, and build data visualizations, websites, web apps, and data experiences.
• Create data visualizations using D3.js.
• Develop and deploy websites and web applications.
• Balance creative coding and rapid prototyping with project goals.
• Meet regularly with clients and present work.
• Alternate between lead and supporting roles on projects.
• Collaborate with designers and other technologists.
• Maintain highest standards of code quality and performance.
